Mattie Opitz

Pilot Point Mattie Faye Opitz, 77 of Pilot Point, died on Sunday, February 1, 2009 . She was born on December 21, 1931 in Alba to Mack and Sarah Velma (Harris) McGee. She married James F. Opitz on July 18, 1966 . She was a grocery cashier. She is survived by her husband James of Pilot Point, five sons, Claude Barton of Sherman, James Barton of Tucson, AZ, John Barton of Bartonville, James Opitz of Poolville, and Michael Opitz of Amarillo, and three daughters, Faye Goetz of Ponder, Charlotte Hamm of Denton, and Susan Opitz of Pilot Point. She is also survived by one brother, Johnny Harris of Melissa and one sister, May Dell Lillard of Cross Roads, as well as eleven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
