Melvin Keefer

SAGINAW -- Melvin R. Keefer, 87, husband, father, doting grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, passed away Thursday, Oct. 28, 2010, at a local hospital.        Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at First Baptist Church of Saginaw. Visitation: 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Calvario Funeral Home (formerly Shannon's).        Melvin was born Jan. 26, 1923, in Evansville, Ark. He was the oldest of three children born to Joseph and Mary Keefer of Justin. He retired from Bell Helicopter in 1983. He enjoyed playing with his great-grandchildren and playing dominoes.        Survivors: He married Floella Parr on Nov. 3, 1945, and is survived by a son, Glenn E. Keefer; grandson, Scott E. Keefer; granddaughter, Lynn Keefer Oswald; great-grandchildren, Amanda Keefer, David Oswald, Matthew Oswald and Katherine Oswald; brother, Paul Keefer of Krum; nieces and nephews; and a number of wonderful friends.
