EVERMAN -- Miriam "Mickey" Wells, our precious mom and grandma, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2009, after a brief illness. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Forest Hill Presbyterian Church, 5713 Forest Hill Drive, Fort Worth, the Rev. Paul Thompson officiating. Interment: Everman Cemetery, where Mickey will be buried next to her husband. Visitation: Friends will be received 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Lucas and Blessing Funeral Home, 518 S.W. Johnson Ave., Burleson. Mickey Wells was born Aug. 5, 1924, to Joe William and Ida Mattie Carnes McQueen in Spring Creek, Parker County. Mickey was a devoted mother to her sons, Vernon, Jerry and Charlie; and her grandchildren, Justin, Meredith, Alan and Adam. She loved her family unconditionally and always with a positive, supportive, encouraging attitude, no matter how ornery they may have behaved. Mickey enjoyed reading, crafts, watching sports and visiting with family. She had been a faithful member of Forest Hill Presbyterian Church for the past 40 years. Mickey was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Elvin C. Wells. Her positive, loving, gentle spirit will be greatly missed by all the Wells family. Survivors: Her sons, Vernon Wells (Barbara), Jerry Wells (Karen) and Charlie Wells; grandchildren, Justin, Meredith, Alan and Adam Wells; six great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends dear to her heart.
