EULESS -- Myra Adene (Mam) Skinner, died Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at a Bedford nursing home. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Interment: 3 p.m. in Oakland Community Cemetery in Canton. Visitation: The family will receive friends 9:30 a.m. Monday prior to the service. Memorials: May be made to First United Methodist Church, 106 N. Main St., Euless, Texas 76040. Myra was born Oct. 19, 1918, in Oakland Community. She married her only love, Sammie Skinner, in May 1937. She moved to Euless in the late '40s. She retired from H-E-B Food Service in 1990. She was a member of First United Methodist of Euless for almost 60 years. She loved Kum Double Sunday school class, Fun Seekers, Euless Senior Center. Myra loved her home, gardening, family vacations in Colorado and baking for others. She was known for her chocolate pies, banana bread and brownies. She always loved the simple things in life but loved God and her family above all. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sammie Skinner; parents, O.D. and Bettie Kennedy; her sister, Mina Mae Hamblen; granddaughter, Lisa Pinson; and son-in-law, Boyd Green. Survivors: Daughters, Carol Francoise and husband, Dennis, Elaine Green; grandchildren, Sondra Crowley and husband, Barry, Bryan Green and wife, Michelle, Lori Paxton and husband, James, and Todd Francoise; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
