NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Myrene Melton Law, 107, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 28, 2011. Myrene was born Jan. 16, 1904, in Fort Worth and lived all her 107 years here. She, her husband, Nugent L. Law, and son, Leroy Law, moved from the Riverside area of Fort Worth to Smithfield/North Richland Hills 68 years ago. Myrene was very active in church work. Sagamore Hill Baptist Church, Birdville Baptist, Smithfield Baptist and First Covenant Church in Irving were blessed with her attendance and teachings. She enjoyed flowers and was a member of the Garden Club. Myrene worked as a legal secretary for Sinclair Oil Co. With her sister-in-law, Neta Sexton, and friend, Ruth Carr, she was in the catering business. She was an outstanding Tupperware salesperson. She was forced to retire after 10 years as a personal secretary from General Dynamics due to her age. After "retirement," she worked and traveled with western author Jane Pattie, doing research, typing and editing the books before publishing. Myrene was an avid reader. After macular degeneration stole her eyesight, her very close friend Jill Delph kept her supplied with books on tape from their trips to the North Richland Hills library. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nugent Leroy Law, and daughter, Rosemary Law. Survivors: Her son, Leroy Law and wife, Julia; grandchildren, David L. Law, Darren G. Law, Laura Lee Lopez; and great-grandchildren, Steven Law, Cody Law, Clinton Law, Emma Law, Joshua Lopez and Kryston Lopez.
