FORT WORTH -- Naomi Ruth Morrow Grisbee, 79, died peacefully Saturday afternoon, Feb. 3, 2007. Funeral: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Harvest Assembly of God, 7501 Crowley Road. Burial: 1 p.m. Thursday in Prairie Lea Cemetery, Brenham. Visitation: Mrs. Grisbee will lie in state on Tuesday in the Parlor at Robertson Mueller Harper. Her family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m in the Great Room. Memorials: Consideration of contributions in memory of Namoi is suggested to Harvest Assembly of God, 7501 Crowley Road, Fort Worth 76134; or to the Women's Ministries Department, South Texas District of the Assemblies of God, P.O. Box 9714, Houston 77213. Born July 29, 1927 in Odell, Wilbarger County, Naomi Ruth was the daughter of Wentford H. and Cecilia Daniel Morrow. She graduated from Greenville High School in 1944 before going to work for Montgomery Ward on Seventh Street in Fort Worth. In 1946, she moved to Houston and was employed by Port City Bank. On Aug. 20, 1948, she married Willard Grisbee. She served alongside her minister husband in pastorates in the Mississippi and Texas Districts of the Assemblies of God. Moving to Brenham in 1958 with her husband, Willard, they pastored the First Assembly of God for 13 years. During that time, she worked at the Brenham Banner Press and later as bookkeeper for Boettcher Lumber Company. Naomi served four years as Missionettes coordinator of the South Texas District of the Assemblies of God, prior to serving as president of the district's Women's Ministries Department for 10 years. After retiring, she and Willard moved back to Fort Worth. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her quick wit, her keen sense of humor, her creativity and her commitment to helping others. She will be missed by all. In addition to her parents, Naomi was preceded in death by her brother, Wentford Jr.; and a sister, Iona Gardner. Survivors: Husband of 58 years, J. Willard Grisbee of Fort Worth; sons, Gary Grisbee of Georgetown and Gayle Grisbee and his wife, Nancy of Hollywood, Fla.; daughter, Gilda Shorter and her husband, Dale of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Zach Grisbee and his wife, Alaina, Jeremy Grisbee, Dayla Shorter and Dayton Shorter; brothers, Jim Morrow and his wife, Norma of Grand Prairie, Olin W. Morrow and his wife, Sophie of Timberline, Va., and W.D. "Sonny" Morrow and his wife, Martha of Santa Fe, N.M.; sisters, Nona Eastman of Hemet, Calif., and Ramona Leggit and her husband, Sam of Denham Springs, La.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
