BEDFORD -- Norma Katherine Knobloch Hughes Branham, 81, passed away Sunday, March 6, 2011. Funeral: 11 a.m. Thursday at Peace Lutheran Church. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: The family will receive friends 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst. Memorials: You may honor her with a gift to Peace Lutheran Church or The Gideons. Norma was born Dec. 1, 1929, in Young County to Frederick Carl and Dorthea Kunkel Knobloch. She attended Terrapin Grade School and Megargel School, then graduated from Olney High School in 1948. She continued her education at Durham's Business School in Fort Worth. Norma then married Anthony Hughes and worked with him in a successful Sheraton Hotel franchise and adopted a baby girl. Soon after, she lost him to cancer and struggled working as a security officer at Sanger Harris but succeeded in raising their new baby girl. In 1965 she married John M. Branham and they opened Branham Furniture Service Center. Over the years they have worked and made numerous friends. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church, where she attended regularly and never missed Monday mornings with her Peace Life Fellowship Group. The family wishes to give a special thanks to Bisop Davies Hospice and especially Penny, Janice, John and Faye. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Anthony G. Hughes and John M. Branham; parents, Frederick and Dorthea Knobloch; newborn sister, Agatha Louise; and brother, Paul Herman Knobloch. Survivors: Her only child, daughter Teresa Joyce Parsons and her husband, Tommy; grandsons, U.S. Marine Corps Staff Sgt. Thomas L. Parsons and his wife, Kristi, and Tyler Parsons and his wife, Jennifer; granddaughter, Taylor Renea Parsons; seven great-grandchildren; and siblings, Herbert Karl Knobloch, Lorna Arnold, Freddie Knobloch and wife, Mildred, Albert Knobloch and wife, Reneta, and Ann Simmons and husband, Pete.
