FORT WORTH -- Norris Richard "Dick" Green, 68, died peacefully Friday evening, March 14, 2008. Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday in Pecan Grove Cemetery, McKinney. Rabbi Sidney Zimelman will officiate. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to a charity of one's choice, in Dick's memory, is suggested. A native of Chicago, Ill., Dick was born Nov. 27, 1939, the son of Harry Herbert and Bertha Bartak Green. He attended high school in Tulsa, Okla., before graduating from Carrollton High School. Dick attended El Centro College in Dallas and graduated from North Texas State University, now UNT, with a degree in computer science. Before becoming a systems analyst, Dick was a crew leader for Ken Bradley Racing, sponsored by the Dodge Motor Company. He loved cars and racing and often entered competitions on his own. He also enjoyed a great game of golf and discovered bowling. As a member of the Professional Bowlers Assoc., he served as a technical official for regional bowling tournaments. Dick met the love of his life, Susanne Nelson Brown, in the late 1970s. The couple were married in 1978. Susanne and her children, Kelly and Glynn, became his family, whom he loved and adored. The entire family extends a most sincere thank you to all of the wonderful medical staff at Presbyterian Hospital of Plano and Regency Hospital in Fort Worth for all of their care and effort. In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his loving wife, Susanne in 2001; and his beloved son, Glynn in 2005. Survivors: In addition to his daughter, Kelly and her husband, Win Harris; Dick is survived by his daughter-in-law, Rebecca Brown, widow of Glynn; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Robert Green; sisters, Ruth Green Becker and Myra Green Barnett; several nieces and nephews; mother-in-law, Effie Ownby; and many devoted friends.
