NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Ola Mae Parish Hemphill, 83, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family Friday, Dec. 26, 2008. Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2008, in the Chapel of Lucas Hurst Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road. Charles A. McDaniel will officiate. Visitation: Ola Mae will lie in state at Lucas Hurst Funeral Home Monday afternoon with the family receiving friends 5 to 7 p.m. Additional services and burial will be Wednesday at Earthman Resthaven Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13102 North Freeway, Houston, 77060. Visitation: Noon to 2 p.m. with graveside and committal service at 2 p.m. Honored bearers of her casket will be her sons and sons-in-law, Billy, Mike, Tim, Kelly, Rick Goodwin and Johnny South. Lawrence Hammond will officiate. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, friends who desire are respectfully invited to honor her memory with contributions in her name to Mid-Cities Care Corps, Community Hospice of Texas and IAAM Billy Hemphill Grant Fund. Ola Mae, known as "Mom," "Mema," "Grandma," "Snooks," "Aunt Ola Mae," was dearly loved by everyone she touched. She is breathing with ease now in her heavenly home with her Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ. Ola Mae was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William F. "Billy" Hemphill. Survivors: Sons and daughters-in-law, Bill Hemphill Jr., Mike Hemphill and Sheryl Sacks, Tim and Risa Hemphill, Kelly and Pamela Hemphill; daughters and sons-in-law, Resa and Rick Goodwin, Lily and Johnny South; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
