FORT WORTH -- Olivia Sue Gardner Parsons, 98, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died peacefully Wednesday morning, Jan. 24, 2007. Memorial service: 3 p.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of the Good Shepherd at University Christian Church. The Rev. Sam Hulsey, a retired bishop of the Episcopal Church, and Dr. Alan Lobaugh will officiate. Burial: Following services at the grave at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sue will be laid to rest next to her husband, "Preacher," in the Nocona Cemetery, Nocona. Honorary bearers will be Tom Cox, Bourke Harvey, Ralph Manning, Don Reynolds, Donald Reynolds, Walter Reynolds and Forrest Tempel. Visitation: Her family will receive friends at the residence of Walter and Claire Reynolds immediately following services at the church. Memorials: Consideration of contributions to the Alzheimer's Association in Sue's name is suggested. A native of Nocona, Olivia Sue was born Aug. 27, 1908, the daughter of David Graham and Mabel Holland Gardner. She was married to Noel Roscoe "Preacher" Parsons, who died in 1974. Sue was a longtime member of University Christian Church. Her memberships also included the Woman's Club of Fort Worth for over 50 years and its Monday Book Club and the Thursday Study Club, and the Fort Worth Club. Survivors: Daughters, Sue Parsons Watts of Fort Worth and Janis Parsons Gallagher and her husband, Don of San Mateo, Calif.; grandchildren, Meredith Lynne Watts Dorris and her husband, Hank, and Brooke David Watts, all of Fort Worth; great-grandson, Holt Dorris; and nephew, Huber R.
