MANSFIELD -- Otis L. Kunkel, 79, passed away Thursday, June 12, 2008, at a Mansfield nursing home. Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1800 West Freeway, Fort Worth. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park, Fort Worth. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Blessing Funeral Home. Memorials: American Cancer Society, 3301 West Freeway, Fort Worth, Texas 76107, or St. John Lutheran Church Building Fund, 1218 E. Debbie Lane, Mansfield, Texas 76063, in lieu of flowers. Otis Luther Kunkel was born May 16, 1929, to Alfred O. and Alice Kunkel in Hamilton County. Otis served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He retired from Williamson-Dickie after 40 years of dedicated service. Otis was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Aleman. He was an active member of St. John Lutheran, Mansfield. Throughout his illness, Otis was truly an inspiration to many. He was a true model to the joy of loving, embracing and living life to the fullest. Otis was a blessing to us all. Otis was predeceased by his wife and mother of his children, Charlene Marie Endebrock Kunkel; his second wife, Willene Ernst Kunkel; and an infant grandson, Bradley Arron Kunkel. Survivors: Sons, Keith L. Kunkel and wife, Hope, and Kraig L. Kunkel, all of Mansfield; stepdaughter, Teresa Bryant and husband, Dennis, and granddaughters, Amy and Heather of Joshua; stepsons, Carey Bayne Ernst and Donald Ray Ernst; his sister, Lynell Martin and husband, Johnny, of Waco; and many nieces and nephews.
