Paula Wynelle Busby

Paula Wynelle (Osburn) Busby was born on April 28, 1932 in Collin County, Texas to the late Thelma (Combest) Osburn and Paul Allen Osburn. She passed away peacefully at home with Valarie and Doug on March 27, 2025 in Stephenville, Texas at the age of 92.

Paula was truly a unique lady. She was a member of Legacy Church of Christ in Fort Worth before moving to Stephenville. She enjoyed studying the Bible and was active in Bible Study Fellowship.

She started her career as a beauty operator in the early 1950’s and was dedicated to her work and clients. She continued working part time into her 80’s. She was a generous and good neighbor, providing meals and helping when needed. She liked playing games, especially 42, with friends and family. Paula made birthdays and holidays very special and fun times.

Paula was also a dedicated advocate of special needs children and was the loving caretaker of her daughter, Cindy. She also did volunteer work in the community. She loved animals, oil painting, and crossword puzzles. She had a lifelong love of poetry, and could quote many poems.

Paula was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank Thomas Busby; daughter, Cynthia Ruth Busby; and brothers, Vail Eton Osburn, Wendell Osburn, and Charles Osburn.

Those left to cherish her memories are her daughter, Valarie and husband, Doug Burns of Stephenville, Texas; sister, Ruth Shelley of Plano, Texas; sister-in-law, Lois Ann Osburn of Pilot Point, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation for Paula will be held at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 1, 2025, at Williams and Lucas Funeral Home located at 517 N. Sylvania Avenue, Fort Worth, Texas 76111. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 P.M. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Dido Cemetery located at 12341 Morris Dido Newark Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76179.
