RICHLAND HILLS -- Raymond Washuleski, 87, passed away Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, surrounded by his loving family. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Interment: Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Raymond was born July 24, 1923, in Coleman, Wis., where he was raised on a dairy farm by his parents, Frank and Pearl Washuleski. He joined the Army Air Force and served his country in World War II as a staff sergeant and received decorations and citations including the American Theater Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. Raymond worked for Montgomery-Ward in the appliance department for over 20 years until his retirement. He was a member of North Richland Hills Baptist Church where he also taught Sunday school. An avid fisherman for northern pike, he also enjoyed golf and playing the guitar. He built many things including his beloved cabin overlooking Palo Pinto Lake. Raymond was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Bennie Foster Washuleski; his brothers, Vernon and Bernard Washuleski; and parents, Frank and Pearl Washuleski. Survivors: Daughter, Janet Tucker; son, Jim Washuleski and his wife, Debbie; grandchildren, Joelle Bolt and her husband, Tracy; Chad Tucker and his wife, Elline, Mark and Matthew Washuleski, great-grandchildren, Brent, Blake, Brandon and Benjamin Bolt; and sister, Leona Zermane.
