ALVARADO -- Raymond T. Wright, a beloved father, brother and husband, died at a Mansfield hospital shortly after midnight on Sunday, Aug. 1, 2010, after a prolonged and valiant fight with heart disease. Mr. Wright was born in Newby, Okla., on July 1, 1923. He served in the United States Army from 1941-1945 in the European theater of operations. He married Clara Schmidts in 1946 and they spent 56 years together before he was widowed in 2002. Mr. Wright started a chemical manufacturing firm in 1948 and operated it with his brother until 1983 when he sold it to Georgia Pacific. He was on the board of Central Bank and Trust, M Bank and Bank One. He was active in the Lions Club as well as local politics. Mr. Wright was a strong and determined entrepeneur who was loved and respected by all who knew him. He will be missed. Survivors: Son, Marty Wright and wife, Charlotte; granddaughter, Alana Wright; brother, Lindy Wright; sister, Alyne Robbins; and sister-in-law, Dorothy Wright.
