ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Rebecca D. Victor passed away peacefully Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, early in her 93rd year. Service: 11 a.m. Friday in Kornbleet Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 411 N. University Drive. Following committal prayers, she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Mitchel, in Ahavath Sholom Cemetery. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to Congregation Ahavath Sholom, in Rebecca's memory, is suggested. Born Dec. 23, 1918, in Fort Worth, Rebecca was the daughter of Ben and Leah Laves. With her husband, she worked in the fine jewelry industry for 60 years. Along the way, she made many close friends. She was active in her synagogue and served as president of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and nine brothers and sisters. Survivors: In addition to her daughters and their husbands, Ellen Victor Diamond and Mark and Bonnie Victor-Fried and Bruce, Rebecca is survived by her granddaughter, Michelle Diamond-Reece and her husband, Jeffrey; and numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
