Richard Florence

HASLET -- Richard Lee Florence, 81, passed away at his home Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, with his family by his side.  Richard enlisted in the Navy on June 23, 1948, and held the rank of AO-03, and was honorably discharged on June 20, 1952, after proudly serving in Patrol Squadron VP-47. Richard loved to study scripture and was a teacher of the word for 60 years. He was patriotic and loved his country and enjoyed visiting with his old military buddies. Richard loved to sing and most of all to spend time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Survivors: His wife of 59 years, Nancy Florence; sons, David Florence and wife, Patricia, Jeff Florence and wife, Christy; brother, Jim Florence; grandchildren, Jonathan Florence and wife, Jennifer, Angela Florence, Jared Florence, Joel Florence and wife, Emily, and Jessica Florence; and great-grandchildren, Isabella Marie Florence, Summerlynn Florence, Gioia Florence, Jayden Florence, Deegan Florence, Averi Florence and Ella Florence.
