BEDFORD -- Richard "Dick" Norman Leggett, 76, passed away Friday, May 1. Funeral was 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, with burial Following in the Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, Dallas. Richard "Dick" Norman Leggett was born May 15, 1932, in Canton, Ohio. He served in the U.S. Army as a military policeman. Later he received his business degree at North Texas University. He then worked as an insurance agent for 30 years. He was a very positive, energetic and caring person. His favorite pastime was sports and occasionally he enjoyed a game of blackjack. He was a true friend to all and loved helping people. He will always be loved and deeply missed by his wife, children and grandchildren. Survivors: Wife, Shelia Leggett; sons, Scott Leggett and fiancee, Karen Hastings, Kenny Porter and wife, Dena, and Rick Leggett and wife, Linda; daughters, Angie Denton and husband, Ed, and Debbie George and husband, Gary; grandchildren, Nigel, Michael, Alicia, Jordan, Morgan, Bailey, Jessica, Charlie, Aubrey and Kristi; brother, Jack Leggett and wife, Evelyn; sister, Nancy Herdlick and husband, Glen; numerous extended family members; and precious pups, Tilli and Ivory.
