Richard McDaniel

HURST -- Richard W. McDaniel, 81, a loving husband and father, passed away Sunday, Aug. 9, 2009.        Memorial service: 6 p.m. Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Visitation: The family will receive friends 5 to 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.        Memorials: Should friends desire, memorials are requested to the Alzheimer's Association or a charity of choice.        Richard, the son of Clarence and Judy Adkins McDaniel, was born April 24, 1928, in Fort Worth. During World War II, Richard served in the Navy. He was a member of the Sports Car Club of America, where he competed in races, winning three national championships and the Presidents Cup. He was a member of the New Car Dealers Association and general manager of Overseas Motors.        Survivors: Wife, Bobbie; son, Rex McDaniel and wife, Jayme; grandchildren, Brett McDaniel and Trevor McDaniel; brother, Bobby McDaniel; and sisters, Barbara Parks and Cynthia Irvin.
