FORT WORTH -- Richard Woods "Dick" Morris died peacefully Tuesday morning, Feb. 2, 2010, in his 72nd year. Memorial service: 4 p.m. Thursday in the sanctuary of First United Methodist Church, 800 W. Fifth St. Mr. Morris will be laid to rest privately in Greenwood Memorial Park. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to the American Heart Association, honoring Dick's memory, is suggested. Born in Fort Worth on July 1, 1937, Dick was the son of Clifton and Lois Morris. He attended Paschal High School and graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in accounting, He was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity. He received his law degree from the University of Texas and was a certified public accountant. Following college, Dick married Barbara Coale and they had five children, with four grandchildren, all of whom he loved very much. Dick went to work for international accounting firm Arthur Young & Company in the tax department of the New York office before becoming managing partner of the Fort Worth office. After leaving Arthur Young, Dick opened and operated a successful private accounting practice. He was an early leader in the development of the Junior Achievement program in Fort Worth. A lifetime Texas Longhorns fan and avid movie buff, Dick enjoyed his large collection classic movies. He had close group of friends who he considered his extended family. The family would like to thank those who lovingly cared and prayed for Dick. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Survivors: In addition to his longtime companion, Vivian Blum of Fort Worth, Dick is survived by his children, Richard, Michelle, Michael and his wife, Elaine, Scott and Steven and his partner, Robert; grandchildren, Nicole and Noelle Miller and Ryan and Anna Morris; brother, Clifton Morris Jr. and his wife, Sheridan; and nephews, Clifton III and John Morris.
