Robert "Bobby" Dorety

NORTH RICHLAND HILLS -- Robert "Bobby" Dorety, 67, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 10, 2015. Memorial service: 2 p.m. Saturday at Lucas Funeral Home, Hurst. Born July 31, 1947, in Dallas to Odie and Judy Dorety, Bobby lived an adventurous life joining the Army and serving in the Vietnam War. After his discharge he followed in his father's footsteps and became a pipeline welder, passing the pipeline tradition on to his son, Brent. He worked in 47 states including work on the Alaskan Pipeline and other work abroad. He was a 49-year member of Pipeliners Union 798. Bobby loved life and his family. He spent countless hours watching old westerns and reminiscing about good times. Survivors: His wife of 31 years, Cynthia Dorety of North Richland Hills; son, Brent Dorety and wife, Dana; daughter, Clancy Johnson and husband, Corey; son, Boe Dorety and wife, Jessica; daughter, Cari Mayfield and husband, Gary; sister, Sharon Wood and husband, Bubba; brother, Owen Dorety and wife, Teresa; 10 grandchildren; and his loyal pooch, Tucker.
