HALTOM CITY -- Robert John McKinney, 67, died Friday, Oct. 23, 2008. Funeral: Noon Monday in Lucas Hurst Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, 1321 Precinct Line Road. The Rev. Dr. Jeff Burnett, pastor, First Baptist Church of Hurst, will officiate. Interment: Following military honors, Bob will be laid to rest in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery, Lane B, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday. Memorials: Friends who desire are respectfully invited to honor Bob's memory with gifts in his name to Marine Toys for Tots. Bob was born Oct. 16, 1941, in Casper, Wyo., to Cecil Francis and Temple Flora Carbaugh McKinney. He retired from NWA. After retirement he found total serenity at his land in East Texas. He proudly and honorably served his country as a U.S. Marine. Dr. Bob always had a smile for everyone. Bob was preceded in death by a son, James McKinney, and a sister, Irene Reid. Survivors: Wife of 20 years, Silvia McKinney; daughters, Dawn Kingdon and husband, Randy, and Christine Arnold; stepsons, Richard Edwards and wife, Kimber, and Travis Edwards and wife, Vera; grandchildren, Tyler Kingdon, Barbara Clark and husband, David, Will Edwards, Allie Edwards, Mason Edwards, Tait Arnold, Tristen Arnold, Cassidy McKinney and Crystal McKinney; three great-grandchildren; brother, Gene McKinney and wife, Mary Ellen; and sisters, Shirley Livermore and husband, Lloyd, Winnie Fox and husband, Dwayne, and Edna Givens and husband, Gary.
