FORT WORTH -- Robert James "Mr. Bob" Wallace, 80, joined the Lord in heaven Sunday morning, May 31, 2009.        Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1800 West Freeway. The Rev. Bud Beverly and the Rev. Martin Danner will officiate. Visitation: He will lie in state Wednesday at Robertson Mueller Harper; family and friends will be received 6 to 8 p.m. in the Great Room.        Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to St. Paul Lutheran Church and School or Accolade Hospice is suggested.        Born Oct. 6, 1928, in Decatur, Ill., Bob was the son of James Otis and Frances Hall Wallace. He proudly served our country as a surgical technician and a paratrooper in the 11th Airborne Division of the U.S. Army. He also served in the Missouri National Guard and in the United States National Guard. Bob was a member of the United Carpenters Union, Local 1596.        Bob worked in the construction business his entire life and was a blessing to those around him. He worked many years for the May Co. in St. Louis, Mo., before moving to Texas to go into business with his son as Michael Interiors/Wallace Construction. Bob then moved to various job titles at St. Paul Lutheran Church and School where he was able to use his God-given talents with his hands as a carpenter/cabinetmaker and share the love of Jesus with all the children.        Survivors: In addition to his wife, Joan Meyer Wallace, Bob is survived by his children, Michael Wallace, Kim Wallace Vincent and her husband, Steve, Jennifer Wallace Gross and Julie Wallace; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Wallace Smith and her husband, Robert; several nieces, nephews and their families; and all the loved children and staff at St. Paul Lutheran Church and School.
