MINERAL WELLS -- Ronnie D. Sims, 60, a machinist, died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006, at a local hospital. Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at Lucas Sylvania Funeral Home with the Rev. Lawrence Hammond officiating. Visitation: Ronnie will lie in state 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials: Friends who desire are respectfully invited to honor Ronnie's memory with contributions to JPS Center for Cancer Care, 601 W. Terrell Ave., Fort Worth, Texas 76104. Ronnie D. Sims was born March 28, 1946, in Whitewright. He worked for Quality Parts Remanufacturing for 10 years. He loved nature and grew up farming, where he learned many skills he used throughout his life. Survivors: His wife, Helen Sims of Mineral Wells; son, Danny Sims of Mansfield; daughter, Missy Donohue of Benbrook; stepdaughter, Jeanette Custer of Mineral Wells; brothers, Robert Sims of Venus, Wayne Sims of Venus, Don Sims of Fort Worth and Billy Ray Sims of Everman; sisters, Shirley Dyess of Cleburne and Jean Berry of Oklahoma; and grandchildren, Marsha, Marlissa, Allison, Donavan and Madessen.
