Roy McWhorter

BEDFORD -- Roy Gene McWhorter, 84, of Bedford passed away Monday, June 13, 2011.        Service: A private burial is planned.        Roy was born Jan. 16, 1927, in Altus, Okla. He attended Southern Methodist University and received his bachelor's degree from the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, Calif., and his master's from Texas A&I University in Kingsville. Upon retiring from the U.S. Navy with 28 years of service, he taught at Tarrant County College before retiring.        Survivors: His wife of 53 years, Dorothy; daughter, Mary Stephenson (Mark); and grandson, Scott Gene.
