RUBY CLINARD

RUBY CLINARD

Born in Marked Tree, Ark., Christine was the daughter of Horry and Eather Mae Weatherford Browder. At a young age, the family moved to Selmer, Tenn., where she grew up. She was a graduate of Union University in Jackson, Tenn. Christine married Gordon Clinard and moved to Fort Worth, where the Rev. Dr. Clinard attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, later becoming a professor there. Mrs. Clinard was a proud pastor's wife and served with her husband at Texas Baptist churches in Burleson, Huntsville and San Angelo. She also served in many volunteer positions in Abilene, where Dr. Clinard taught as a professor at Hardin-Simmons University. In addition to her husband, who died in 1973, and parents, Christine was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Clinard Helms in 2003; and two sisters. Survivors: Son, Truitt Clinard and his wife, Rinda, of Fort Worth; daughter, Tracye Clinard Schlange and her husband, Paul, of Goffstown, N.H.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Spurgeon Browder of Selmer, Tenn.; one nephew; and several nieces.
