Russell Garretson

BEDFORD -- Russell Rogers Garretson, 76, a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, passed away Friday, April 24, 2009. Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Shady Oaks Baptist Church in Hurst. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in Boyd Cemetery. Visitation: The family will receive friends 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Russell, the son of Leroy W. and Frances Rogers Garretson, was born June 19, 1932, in Wichita, Kan. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He was the former owner of Cash Register Specialty Co. in Arlington. Russell served many years on the Bedford Library Board. He was a deacon in the Baptist church and a member of Shady Oaks Baptist Church. Russell was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.
