BEDFORD -- Sandra Jean Jenny, 73, a loving wife, mother and doting grandmother, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 26, 2011. Memorial service St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Hurst. Sandra was the first child born to Delores and Edwin Wurdeman on a farm south of Leigh, Nebraska on July 5, 1937. She was a cheerleader and majorette at Leigh High School. In 1956, she flew to the Island of Oahu Hawaii to marry her high school sweetheart, Elmer Jenny. They lived in numerous cities and states throughout Elmer's career, finally settling in Bedford. She was a stay-at-home mom until her three children started school. Then she was employed by Montgomery Wards, JC Penney, where she worked up to Floor Supervisor and then fifteen years until retirement as a contact lens technician. She loved crafts, especially quilting. Sandra and Elmer travelled extensively in their motor home while spending winters in Arizona. One of the highlights of her life was a Caribbean cruise in July 2006 with all her children, grand-children and spouses to celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary. She was preceded in death by her parents, step-father, Harry Asche, brother, Gerald Wurdeman and sister, Pamela Asche. She is survived by her husband, Elmer; children, Christine Ann Ferrua and husband, Mark, Elmer Lee Jenny, Jeffery Taylor Jenny and wife, Amy; grandchildren, Justin Ferrua, Dereck Jenny, Brandon Ferrua, Joe Ferrua, Zackery Jenny, Faith Jenny; great-granddaughter, Alicia Jenny; brothers, Don Wurdeman and Harry Asche; sister, Paula Tichota.
