Sandy was born Feb. 24, 1940, in Austin, Minn., to Laurel and Joyce Beltz and was the oldest of four children, all daughters. The family moved to Santa Monica for the war effort in the early 1940s where Sandy grew up and graduated from Santa Monica High School. In Santa Monica she met and married her lifelong love, Ernest Leonard. Ernie and Sandy moved about the country following his engineering occupation, winding up in 1968 in Pascagoula, Miss., where they both accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior. Sandy was deeply involved with mentoring young women in their Christian walk in churches ranging from Pascagoula to the Washington, D.C., area and the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. Sandy was a devoted wife and mother of four children, Elizabeth Patricia, Ernest Walter, Joshua David and Faith Eileen, as well as an accomplished artist, whose paintings decorate many homes. Sandy will be greatly missed by the many people she served so well. Sandy was preceded in death by her parents and her youngest child, Faith. Survivors: Her devoted husband, Ernie; her children, Beth, Ernest and Josh; her sisters, Patricia Church, Pamela Triplatt and Diane Brown; and her grandchildren, Anna, Travis, Madeleine, Michael, Caleb, Mark and Timothy.
