Sean Michael McMahon, 74, passed away Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013. Service: 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lucas Funeral Home-Hurst. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Sean was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on Dec. 20, 1938, the middle child of three, born to John Francis McMahon and Margaret Hiss McMahon. He moved to Fort Worth in 1942 and spent the rest of his life here. He was one of the original pupils at the new St. Alice Catholic Elementary School. In 1953 he graduated to Laneri High School, became involved in many sports and made lifelong friends. He won a basketball scholarship to St. Edwards Academy in Austin. In 1961 he married Barbara Rhone and had two children, Timothy and Shannon. He married Cynthia Phillips and took her son, Nathan, to raise as his own. When he retired, he married his longtime friend, Alma Brady, in 1997 and moved to Granbury. His passion was golf and he worked at the Nutcracker Golf Club. We want to thank Harris Hospital, Joan, Cheryl and Cassidy at Renaissance Rehab and Odyssey Hospice for the amazing care and wonderful people who cared for him during his illness. He will be greatly missed. He was an amazing man with a great sense of humor. His joy was to make people laugh and have a good time in this world . . . We expect he will be doing just that in the next! He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors: His wife, Alma Brady; his children, Timothy McMahon, Shannon Swain, Nathan Phillips; stepdaughters, Lori Solecki and Lisa Howard-Rogers; sisters, Mary Margaret Lanzarotti and Shelia Vinson; as well as his grandchildren Amanda, Greg, Timothy and Sean McMahon, Michael and Matthew Swain, Brady Howard, Amanda Rogers; great-grandchildren, Timothy, Liam and Abagail; and many nieces and nephews.
