GRAPEVINE -- Sherri Lynn Tomberlin, 53, the most amazing woman, was called home by God on Wednesday, May 25, 2011. Funeral: Noon Saturday at First United Methodist Church, Founders Chapel, 422 Church Drive, Grapevine. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Lucas Funeral Home, Hurst. Sherri was born Sept. 16, 1957, in Wichita Falls. She graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University, where she was a Sigma Kappa, and later was a founding member of the Armadillos. Sherri was a devoted wife of 30 years and proud mother of two loving daughters. She was a breath of fresh air wherever she went with her beautiful smile and great sense of humor. Her dedication to family, friends and her work were her callings in life. Sherri loved traveling and had recently celebrated 30 years of service at Carlson Wagonlit Travel, where she was director of operations. She was an inspirational leader, mentor and delightful friend who brought joy to many during her short time on this earth. Sherri was preceded in death by her mother, Fadyne Carlson, and brothers, Alan and Bruce. Survivors: Husband, David; daughters, Jessica and Britney; father, Clarence Carlson; sister, Alana Keeton and husband, Kem; sister-in-law, Carylon Carlson; nieces, Christi Boland and Melissa Carlson; brother-in-law, Joe Tomberlin and wife, Sherry; sisters-in-law and husbands, Jean and Mark Brown and Sue and Steve Atkins; loving nieces and nephews, Aubrie, Berkley, Frank, Rob, Aaron, Emily and Adam; and granddogs, Mikey and Cooper.
