Sherril Davis,

KELLER -- Sherril Don Davis, 79, of Keller passed away Monday, Aug. 16, 2010, after a month long illness.        Service: 11 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, 225 Keller Parkway, Keller. Pastor Keith Sanders will officiate. Interment. 9:30 a.m. Thursday in Moore Cemetery, 1219 Davis Blvd., Arlington. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Lucas Funeral Home, 137 E. Hill St., Keller.        Sherril was born Aug. 30, 1930, in Dallas to Otis Ransom Davis and Irma Chapmond Davis. He grew up in Winters, where he graduated from high school. He attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock, receiving a bachelor of business degree. In 1950, he married Deffie Holder from Meadow. Sherril and Deffie have four children, Richard Davis and his wife, Kathleen, of Krum; Beverly Light and husband, Dan, of Keller; Don Davis of Fort Worth; and Robert Davis and wife, Nancy, of Plano.        Sherril served as a manager for Shop Rite Foods and later owned and operated three independent Affiliated Grocery Stores. He also served as a home builder in Keller and Southlake with Davis Home Fair and D'lightful homes.        Family and church were an important part of Sherril's life. He served as a deacon for First Baptist Church in Keller. He loved his Sunday school class and his many friends from First Baptist Church.        Preceding Sherril in death were his parents and older sister, Norma Jo Davis Rogers.        Survivors: Wife; children; siblings, Chapmond Davis and wife, Jo Freda, of Fort Worth, Jerry Davis and wife, Gail, of Houston and Sandra Davis Phelps and husband, Howell, of Horseshoe Bay; grandchildren, Eric Davis, Leslie Davis, Aimee Monk, Curtis Davis, Heather Light, Christopher Light, Zack Davis, Erin Kate Davis, Anna Jane Davis and Mary Rose Davis; and great-grandchildren, Cody Monk, Sharon Monk and Samantha Davis.
