GRAPEVINE -- Shirley Jean Anderson, a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, died peacefully Monday afternoon, Nov. 14, 2011, early in her 74th year. Service: A committal service will be held at 9:45 a.m. Friday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: She will lie in state Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home, 137 E. Hill St., Keller, where family and friends will be received 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, consideration of contributions to the Kidney Foundation or to a charity of one's choice, in her memory, is suggested. Born in Mansfield, La., on Oct. 13, 1937, Shirley was the daughter of Richard and Mary Reynolds Edwards. She graduated from Magnolia High School in 1956 and went on to receive a business degree from Spencer Draughon Business College in Shreveport, La. Shirley spent 22 years working in Arizona for Greenlee County and retired as county assessor. Survivors: In addition to her husband, Virgil, Shirley is survived by her daughter, Terri Anderson; son, Richard Anderson and his wife, Melody, and their daughters, Riley and Callie; and brother, George Thomas Burt.
