EULESS -- Shirley Ann Harper Tappe, 77, passed away Friday, July 27, 2012, in Dallas. Memorial service: 3 p.m. Sunday at First United Methodist Church, Mabank. Private burial: Azleland Memorial Park. Shirley Tappe was born on July 9, 1935, in Dallas. She was a passionate artist, with her paintings inspired by her love for jazz music. She was an avid reader, particularly enjoying the essays of Thoreau. She always loved to "be on the go," regardless where her travel might take her. She was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather, Opal Rogers Harper Gray and Leon Gray; her father, William Boyd Harper; and her husband, Billie Edward Tappe. Survivors: Sons, Philip Tappe and his wife, Nancy, of Monticello, Ark., and Adam Tappe and his wife, Misti, of Corinth; daughter, Alison Neighbors and her husband, Steve, of Kemp; sister, Betty Nadeau and husband, Ted, of Pennsylvania; and grandchildren, Jacob and Bill Neighbors, and Sarah and Alexis Tappe.
