Sibyl Layfield

Sibyl Layfield passed away on 5 December 2011 at a Denton hospital. She was 92. Sibyl was married for 51 years to John W. "Jack" Layfield, who preceded her in death. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and later joined Justin United Methodist Church. She lived a life of service to others as a "Rosie the Riveter" during War World II, a teacher aide at Justin Elementary School, and a loving caregiver to countless individuals. Survivors include her sister and brother-in-law, Kathy and Lee Roy Denson of Pearland, TX; daughters and sons-in-law, Francette and David Carnahan of Houston; and Paulette Layfield and Raul Vargas of New Fairview; and granddaughters, Annalisa Layfield Vargas and Laurita Layfield Vargas. Burial is private. Officiating are The Rev. Dr. Gary L. Abbott, Pastor Buster Noah, and Mel West, Retired Pastor. Pallbearers are Annalisa Vargas, Laurita Vargas, Raul Vargas, David Carnahan, Dennis Ferguson, Marcos Valenzuela, and Joe Max Wilson.
