Stephen R. Bennett

Stephen R. Bennett, 88, passed away on Monday, March 26, 2018 at his home. Funeral: 11:00 AM Saturday in the Chapel of Williams and Lucas Funeral Home in Fort Worth. Interment will follow at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park in Colleyville. Visitation: 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday evening at the funeral Home. Steve was born November 24, 1929 in Dallas and moved to a farm near Seymour on his fourth birthday. In 1953, he returned to Dallas to work for the William H. LaDew Fire Protection Sprinkler Company and retired from there in 1987. He and Yvonne met in 1953 at church and married in 1956. In his retirement years, he continued to enjoy farming in Seymour as often as he could return to the family farm. He was Minister of Community Care and a Deacon of the Mid-town Church of Christ. Above all, Steve loved God, his family, and his country. Steve was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Laurna and Rosa. Survivors: Wife, Yvonne Bennett; daughter, Cendriah Maloney and husband Dan; sons, Stephen Bennett, Jr. and wife Tamera and Richard Bennett; adopted children, Gladys Patterson, Lisa Waddill, Joe Gray, David Gray, Svetlin Burgudzhiev, Hollis Greggory, and Miguel Estrada; 3 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; and a host of adopted grandchildren and extended family members.
