MANSFIELD -- Stephen Michael Carr, 60, passed away after a brief illness Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010, in Mansfield. Service: Mass will be at noon Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Arlington. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Blessing Funeral Home in Mansfield, with a rosary at 7 p.m. Memorials: Vitas Hospice Care or Cook Children's Medical Center Nephrology Fund. Stephen was born May 14, 1949, in Waterloo, Iowa. His family moved to Kansas City, Mo., when he was very young and he lived most of his life there. He was a painter for over 40 years. He served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War. Stephen and Bev were married May 5, 1990, and moved to Texas in 1999. They loved to travel and some of their fondest memories were from vacations. He was an avid reader, gardener and music lover, especially jazz. But his passion and his happiest moments were spent with his grandchildren. Survivors: Wife, Beverly; children, Sara Scott, Tom Carr, Tom McNamara and wife, Laura, Kathleen Maddock, Amy Wager and husband, Bob, and Sean McNamara; grandchildren, Noah, Seth, Hannah, Mariah, Josh and wife, Heather, Jason, Jessica, Joy, Shannon, Molly, Gage and Mia Grace; great-grandchild, Kenlee; mother, Joyce; sisters, Jennifer Jones and Kathey Carr; seven nieces and nephews; and a wealth of friends and relatives.
