EULESS -- Sylvester "Syl" Stroot passed away on April 8, 2010 in Euless, Texas from respiratory problems. Family will greet friends 9:30 - 11 am, Monday, April 19th at Lucas Hurst Funeral Home. Committal Service: Monday, April 19th, 12:00 noon at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery. Born in Wichita, Kansas, he proudly served the country that he loved in the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he worked for William (Bill) Lear, founder of Learjet. Later, he worked for FlightSafety International from 1967-1980. In 1980, he joined Combs Gates-Denver as a salesman of pre-owned corporate jets and later with Jack Prewitt & Associates in Bedford, Texas. In 2002, he started an aircraft brokerage business (Stroot Aviation, Inc.) facilitating corporate jet sales worldwide. He was preceded in his death by both of his parents & grandparents. He is survived by Mary Stroot, their children Carla Dalton and David Stroot, two brothers, two sisters and five grandchildren.
