GRAND PRAIRIE -- Therman Campbell, 89, was welcomed home on Wednesday, April 7, 2010. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Scottish Rite Children's Home, Dallas, or Master Builders, First Baptist Church, Grand Prairie. Therman was born Jan. 7, 1921, in Bonham, the son of David and Mattie Armstrong Campbell. He married Bettye Gatlin on Jan. 24, 1942, before serving in the European theater during World War II. He returned to Grand Prairie and was employed by LTV Aerospace for 35 years before retiring in 1978 as general foreman of the machine shop. Therman was a 60-year member of the Grand Prairie Masonic Lodge and Dallas Scottish Rite and had been a member of the First Baptist Church of Grand Prairie for over 60 years. He enjoyed traveling between his home at the Masonic Park in South Fork, Colo., and South Texas, visiting with friends and family and fishing. Therman was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, David Campbell; and his sister, Lucille King Summers. Survivors: Wife, Bettye; daughters, Cathy and husband, Russ Byrd, Karen and husband, Joe Johnston, and Susan and husband, Ed Bandy; grandchildren, Jamie Marsh, Kimberly Marsh Skidmore, Brian Byrd, Susan Byrd Shinn, Kelly Byrd Sumner, Heather Johnston Wingo, Jason Johnston, Justin Johnston, Shea Bandy Stapleton, Chelsea Bandy and Garrett Bandy; and 11 great-grandchildren.
