Thomas Mitchell

Thomas D. Mitchell, 64, went to be with his Lord on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at a local hospital surrounded by family and friends. Tom was born in Fort Worth, Texas on August 30, 1946, the son of William "Bill" J. Mitchell and Jean Howard Mitchell. He married Paula K. Locke in Waco, Texas on February 22, 1968. Tom served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam era and was a retired industrial engineer. Survivors include his Wife and best friend of 43 years, Paula Mitchell of Rendon; daughter, Stephanie Rauer Hall and husband Bobby; grandchildren, Colby and Ashley Rauer; father, William "Bill" Mitchell of Arlington; brother, Eddy Mitchell of Arlington; sister, Jeana Hensley and husband Bud of Dripping Springs; sister in law, Joyce Schroeder of Waco; niece, Catherine Hensley and nephew, Travis Hensley both of Dripping Springs; numerous friends and extended family. Tom was preceded in death by his son, William Paul Mitchell and his mother, Jean Mitchell. The family requests donations be made in Tom's memory to St. John Lutheran Church, American Diabetes Association or charity of choice.
