ALVARADO -- Thomas W. Smith Sr. passed away at an Arlington hospital Friday, June 6, 2008, after a brief illness. Tom was born in Cortland, N.Y., on Nov. 30, 1943, to Harold Cargill and Flossie Knapp Cargill. He moved to Texas in 1982 and was employed for many years at Southern Star Concrete as a scheduler. Tom was preceded in death by his wife, Lois Smith; daughter, Michelle Smith; and mother, Flossie Cargill. Survivors: Companion, Vicky Neasbitt; father, Harold Cargill of Groton, N.Y.; brothers, Ed Smith of Groton, N.Y. and Jim Cargill of Greeley, Pa.; sister, Sandra Reisen of Greeley, Pa.; son, Thomas W. Smith Jr. of Houston; daughters, Sue Gleason of Cortland, N.Y., and Theresa Allen (Kevin Allen) of Kennedale; grandchildren, Mitchell Gleason, Baylee and Riley Allen; And many extended-family members and friends.
