FORT WORTH -- Thomas Coleman "Tom" Smith, 84, died peacefully Wednesday morning, Aug. 22, 2007, surrounded by his family. Funeral: 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Robertson Mueller Harper. The Rev. Dottie Cook of South Hills Christian Church and Chaplain Ed Stauffer of the Fort Worth Fire Department will officiate. Interment: Those wishing to attend military honors should arrive in Lane B in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery for a 1 p.m. committal service. Memorials: Consideration of contributions is suggested, in lieu of flowers, to Birds & Animal Rehabilitation Keep (ARK), for wildlife rehabilitation, in care of the University of Texas Marine Science Institute, Port Aransas, in memory of Tom. A native and life resident of Fort Worth, Tom was born June 7, 1923, the son of William R. and Gertrude Bell Smith. He was a graduate of Polytechnic High School.
