FORT WORTH -- Tommy Ray Zimmerhanzel, 56, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother and uncle, died peacefully Sunday morning, Feb. 3, 2008. Funeral: 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel at Robertson Mueller Harper. Donald J. Wills and Dale R. Williams, pastors of the First Baptist Church of Fort Worth, will officiate. He will be laid to rest in Laurel Land Memorial Park. Bearers of his casket will be David Elizondo, Albert Padilla, Chris Sawyer, Ricky Sawyer, Charlie Taylor and Robert Tyson. Visitation: Tommy will lie in state Tuesday afternoon in the Parlor at Robertson Mueller Harper; his family will receive friends in the Great Room from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials: Consideration of contributions to a charity of one's choice, in Tommy's memory, is suggested. A native and lifetime resident of Fort Worth, Tommy was born Sept. 25, 1951, the son of Henry and Ethel Sawyer Zimmerhanzel. He was a graduate of Arlington Heights High School and was married to Laura Elizondo. Tommy's family members wish to express their thanks to Dr. Le and the staff of Odyssey House. Survivors: In addition to his wife, Tommy is survived by his children, Mandy and Michael; grandchildren, Noah and Mason; mother, Ethel Sawyer Zimmerhanzel; sister, Bonnie Zimmerhanzel Lydia, all of Fort Worth; and several nieces and nephews.
