MANSFIELD -- Tristen A. Dasch, age 15, breathed his first breath in heaven Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010. He was hospitalized in Memphis, Tenn. Memorial service: 5 p.m. Wednesday at St. John Lutheran Church, 1218 E. Debbie Lane, Mansfield. Visitation: will follow in the gym, where refreshments and sandwiches from Spring Creek Barbeque will be served. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. John Lutheran Church Memorial Prayer Garden. Tristen was born to Sheila and Bill Dasch on July 1, 1995, in Houston. He was known for his wit, musical and athletic ability, but, most of all, for his loving and kind spirit. He accompanied his dad, a pastor, to hospitals and prayed for people. He wanted to be a pastor and a doctor. For seven-plus years, he fought leukemia and survived against all odds. Finally, complications from treatment became too much for his body to bear. Doctors and nurses at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth and St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn., have commented on how strong his spirit was. Survivors: His brothers, Taylor and Scott and wife, Sandy; his parents, Sheila and Bill; grandparents Catherine Dasch, Charlotte Johnson and Dennis Morris; and great-grandmother Imogene Jacobs. He had a host of close friends, family and relatives.
