Twila Jones

Twila C. Jones      FT. WORTH -- Twila C. Jones, 100, passed away September 13, 2011 in Ft. Worth.        Service: 10:30AM Saturday at White's Chapel Methodist Church, Southlake.        Interment: September 27 Prairie Home Cemetery, Shawnee County, KS.        Memorial: In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to the Costa Rican Orphan Fund c/o White's Chapel Methodist Church, 185 S. White's Chapel Blvd., Southlake, TX 76092. Please designate "Costa Rica Orphans".        Twila was born Dec. 15, 1910 in Kiro, KS to Joseph and Loleta Kinnaird. She graduated from Silver Lake H.S. in Kansas. After graduation from high school, she attended Business College in Topeka, KS. After graduation from Business College, she was employed in the accounting department with the Santa Fe Railroad in Topeka. She married Murlin Jones on Dec. 12, 1936 in Silver Lake. She and her husband moved to Richmond,CA, where he was employed by the Standard Oil Co. of CA (Chevron). Her husband accepted a position in 1943 with the Arabian American Oil Co. (Aramco) in Saudi Arabia. Her husband returned in 1946 and Twila and her two sons moved to Saudi Arabia. During their years in Saudi Arabia they visited many European countries, much of Africa, the Middle East, the Indian sub-continent, Southeast Asia, and the Far East. Twila was an active bridge player and was involved with the education of her two sons and daughter. Murlin retired from Aramco in 1969 and they returned to the United States and settled on a lake in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Murlin passed away in 2000. Twila remained in Hot Springs until 2009 when she moved to the Sterling House in Watauga to be near her daughter, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.        Survivors: sons, Myles Jones of Grass Valley, CA, Marshall Jones of Montgomery, TX and daughter, Twila "Toodie" Morgan of Ft. Worth; 7 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
