Velma Hickman

KELLER -- Velma Hickman, 95, passed away Tuesday, August 3, 2010, in a local health care facility.        Graveside Service: The service was 1 p.m. Friday, August 6, in Bourland Cemetery, Keller, where she was laid to rest with her husband, Hurshel Hickman. Her grandson, Steve Guess officiated.        Visitation: The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Lucas Keller Funeral Home 137 E. Hill St.        Velma was born in Platter, OK, May 5, 1915, to Patrick and Callie Turner.        Velma was preceded in death by her parents, Pappy and Callie Turner; her husband, Hurshel Hickman; daughters, Mary Guess and Carolyn Hudson; her twin brother, Elmer Turner; and great-granddaughter, Jessica Guess.        Survivors: sons, Bobby Hickman and wife, Dr. Audrey Hickman, and Jerry Hickman; daughters, Barbara Tucker and husband, Roy, and Pat Wood; 13 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren.
