KENNEDALE -- Veva Arthur Wren, 88, died Monday, July 21, 2008, at a local care center. Funeral: 10 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Lucas Hurst Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road. Interment: Following a committal service, Veva will be laid to rest in Arwine Cemetery next to her husband, Samuel, who passed away in 1985. Visitation: She will lie in state Wednesday at the funeral home, with family receiving friends 6 to 8 p.m. Veva Arthur was born Sept. 16, 1919, in Hurst to Benjamin L. and Maude E. Anderson. She was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. She was past district president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Helen Arthurene Wren Giddens; and sons, Samuel Thomas Wren and Benjamin James Wren. Survivors: Grandchildren, Rebecca Wren Ensey and T.W. Giddens and his wife, Amy; and great-grandchild, Alexandra Ensey.
