ROANOKE -- Victor Lee "Vic" Watson passed away Monday, Feb. 2, 2009, in Texas. Memorial service: Will be held at a later date in Michigan. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make donations in his name to Christ Haven in Keller. Vic was born July 16, 1932, in Garden City, Mich. He was a beloved husband, stepfather and stepgrandfather, and a true friend to many. Vic was born and raised in Garden City, Mich., where he graduated, and lived in New Hudson, Mich., and Roanoke. He served his country in the Army and fought in the Korean War. He was a member of the Cowtown Cruisers in Michigan. Vic owned a Corvette repair shop for 30 years and was an avid old car enthusiast. He loved life and lived life to its fullest, which included snow-mobiling, flying planes and racing cars and boats. Survivors: Vic leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Linda Kidwell Watson; brother, Earl Watson; sister, Vivien Dockter of Michigan; stepsons, Paul Gale of Illinois, Gary Gale and wife, Amy, Chris Gale and Scott Gale and wife, Jaewon; stepdaughter, Kristine Beam and husband, Scott; 14 stepgrandchildren; several nieces and nephews; sisters-in-law, Shawn and Mike Thompson, Carolyn Nations, Beverly and Mark Cowan of Texas and Linda Sands; and Elmer Mullen, Mike Teno and numerous other friends in Michigan.
