ROANOKE -- Vontilla Parchman, 81, passed away Thursday, Jan. 5, 2012, at an area hospital. The Rev. Dr. Bruce Barber and the Rev. Val Martinez officiating. Vontilla was born Sept. 20, 1930, in Fort Worth to Walter Scott and Linda Etta Peyton Bell. She and Stanley G. Parchman were married April 4, 1970, and celebrated 41 wonderful years.  She worked for Victor Equipment Co. for 28 years. Vontilla was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Roanoke.  She was preceded in death by a daughter, June Sharpless. Survivors: Husband, Stanley G. Parchman; son, Dr. Wallace Townsend-Parchman and his wife, Dr. Jan; daughters, Linda R. Blevins and husband, Dale, and Debbie Castorina and husband, Jaime; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
