Warren Alsie Lambert Jr., 83, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2006. Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday in Blessing Colonial Chapel, 401 Elm St., Mansfield, Pastor Charles Leake officiating. Burial: Mansfield Cemetery. Visitation: 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Blessing Funeral Home. Warren was born Oct. 19, 1923, to Warren A. Sr. and Nellie Lambert in Mesquite. He graduated from Mansfield High School in 1942 and joined the Army Air Corps in 1943, receiving his wings in 1944. He married the love of his life, Ellen Rose Cantrell, on Sept. 23, 1944, in Greenville, Miss. Warren retired from General Dynamics in 1988 after 38 years of service. A member of Arlington Community Church for 45 years, he is remembered as a patient, devoted husband, father and friend. He loved to travel and was considered an "expert" trout fisherman. He was also a gifted artist and has left a legacy of remarkable paintings with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ellen Rose Lambert; brother, Eugene Lambert; sisters, Louise Mahan and Mary Jo Conway; and great-granddaughter, Zoe Denison. Survivors: Daughter, Joellen Walker and husband, David, of Fort Worth; son, Warren Carlton Lambert of Bellevue, Wash.; daughter, Laurel Garrett and husband, David, of Houston; grandchildren: Amy Richardson, Bret Denison, Graysen, Austin and Samantha Garrett; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Joseph Richardson and Noah Denison; and brother, Edward Lambert and wife, Lucy, of Russellville, Ark.
