Welton D. (Bill) Bailey, 97, passed away on January 1, 2015. Service: 10 am, Thursday at Lucas Funeral Home in Hurst. Rev. Steve Heyduck officiating. Burial: 2:15 pm, Thursday at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 5 to 8 pm, Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Wounded Warriors Project: http://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/ Born May 20, 1917, Mr. Bailey was a retired Air Force officer with tours of duty in Europe and Canada. As an electronics officer he worked with many Air Force missile programs both in the research and development phases at Cape Canaveral and Eglin Air Force Base and with operational missile units overseas. After retirement from the Air Force he was employed as a test engineer to test systems on the Saturn V rockets that landed men on the moon. He was preceded in passing by his wife, Marie Elizabeth Jackson Bailey; and brother, Lowell Bailey. Survivors: Son, Philip Bailey and wife Pat; grandchildren, May Beth Mulford, Pamela Renee Gray and Paige Elaine Paddick; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Eleanor Robinson; and nephew, Thomas Robinson.
